Scope

In preparation for the new HatTrick cycle in 2024,

created a new model for the Women’s Football Development Programme that reflects both the increase in annual funding available but also the evolving needs of women’s football.

PROCESS

A survey of women’s football leads across Europe was conducted alongside a detailed analysis of how National Associations used the funding – including project types, financial allocations and focus areas.

 

 

OUTPUT

In response to the findings and in collaboration with all major stakeholders a new structure was created that incorporated UEFA’s new mininium standards framework, club licensing and a new League Development Fund which had the aims of:

The League Development Fund is the first of it’s kind and provided an innovative response to the needs of national associations and women’s football across the continent and allows for funding of projects related to league strategy, sporting aspects, education programmes, revenue generation and pathway development.
